Aether showcased at the first International Symposium on VLEO Missions and Technologies

On June 29 Dr. Tommaso Andreussi, Technical Responsible for the Aether project, participated on behalf of the Consortium to the first Inernational Symposium of VLEO Missions and Technologies.

The Symposium was organised by the University of Manchester as Co-ordinator of the H2020 DISCOVERER project. It featured 5 technical sessions spanning over two days, with about 25 presentations and two poster sessions.

Within Session 4, devoted to Propulsion systems, Dr. Andreussi went through the advancements on the Aether Ram-EP system, from the complete re-design and optimisation of the intake to the new ionization and acceleration stages, to the radiofrequency cathode, and presented a first spacecraft design for VLEO missions.
